About Us

We strive to provide our students at the JPII Center and on the campuses we serve with dynamic and orthodox formation which will enable them to succeed in the great quest of every human being: to be a Saint!

Our patron, St. John Paul the Great, often said, "Be not afraid!" With this at the forefront of everything we do, our campus ministry seeks to provide students a welcoming and holy environment where they can form authentic friendships, grow in a deeper relationship with the Most Blessed Trinity, and have fun too!

As you begin your academic career here in Tyler, or if you are a returning student or parent, I want to encourage you to feel free to contact me anytime at fvreeland@bishopgorman.net

Modeled after the 4-Pillar approach to Seminary Formation for Priests, our campus ministry will make efforts to grow young men and women through human formation, spiritual formation, apostolic formation, and intellectual formation-all with the desire to help the students we serve to become active agents in the New Evangelization:

Human Formation

  • Student Leadership
  • Plan of Life-Time Management and Goal Setting
  • Professional Development
  • Games and Fraternity

Spiritual Formation

  • Daily Mass Tuesday through Friday, Sunday Mass, 6 hours of Confession weekly, and 10 hours of Adoration weekly
  • One-on-one Spiritual Direction
  • Monthly Nights of Recollection

Intellectual Formation

  • RCIA
  • Bible Studies
  • Catholic Underground
  • Theology Roundtable

Apostolic Formation

  • Groups for Men and Women
  • Awakening Retreat
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Mission Trips

Our goal is to be a friendly, holy place for you while you are here studying at a college in the Tyler area, ultimately bringing you closer to God and closer to one another through the abundant life of faith offered to us in the Roman Catholic Church. Please pray for one another, and be assured of mine for you!

Once again, welcome!  And we look forward to meeting you!
